How do I sign up?

Second register your desired domain name at http://registerpro.net

Third go to http://cityusa.biz/sign_up.php and sign up.. after you set up your payment you will be redirected to a build ticket form to fill out and that’s it.

What does it cost?

$49/monthly and your first month is free, just pay a $49 setup fee…with no contract!

What forms of payment do you take?

You have your choice of paying for your site with your credit card through 2checkout or Paypal. This is an automated recurring payment.

Can I lease more than one city?

Yes, you can lease as many cities as you like.
What does it cost to lease multiple cities?

If you want one website to include multiple cities the charge is figured as follows:

$49 monthly for your first city + $20 monthly for each additional city.

So one website that included 3 cities would be $89/monthly.
One website that included 4 cities would be $109/monthly
To combine cities into one website the cities have to be near each other to make up an “area’. Your domain name can not include the word “county” or the name of your county unless you lease all cities in that county.

Your setup fee is a one time charge
If you want a different website for each city the charge is figured this way:
$49 monthly for your first city + $35 monthly for each additional city.
So three separate city sites would be $119/monthly

Four separate city sites would be $154/ monthly

Do I need to purchase my own domain name?

You will need to purchase your own domain name (this is for your protection… this way YOU own it) if you register it at http://registerpro.net then the name servers will already be set for you. Domain names run about $12/year.

Does it matter where I register my domain name?

It is easiest if you register your domain name at http://registerpro.net as the name servers will already be set up to work with our sites. You are welcome to register your domain name elsewhere, but you will need to change your name servers to ours.

Can I register any domain name I want?

Yes, within reason. Obviously you cannot use anything obscene or offensive in your domain name. You cannot use the name of another city or your county name (unless you actually lease the county). We recommend you use the name of your city in your domain name if possible as it will help your site in the search engines

What about hosting and hosting fees?

All sites must reside on our server. Your hosting fees are included in your monthly payment.

Do I have to sign a contract?

No, if you decide it is not for you then you can cancel anytime. When you sign up for the monthly payment plan you are on a month to month basis. If you wish to cancel please email us before your next payment. There are no refunds or partial refunds for unused time.

Do I have to live in the city that I lease?

No you can live anywhere but we recommend if you plan to sell advertising on your site that you live close enough to go out and sell ads or close enough to manage a sales team.

Are there any other fees involved other than the monthly fee?

That is all you pay us! You should plan on the costs of promoting or selling ads on your site. printing flyers etc.

How long does it take to build my site after I sign up?

We ask that you allow 48 to 72 hours for us to set everything up for you. We create a complimentary custom header for you, set up your colors, local links, local weather etc . and we want it to look great when you get it.

Can I customize the look of my site?

Yes, you will have access to change the main colors of your site and you can also upload your own header if you like. You can chose if you want to show or hide featured items on your home page such as features business listings, features real estate listings, features classifieds or featured articles.

Will I have cPanel or Server access?

No. You will have access to your admin control panel to edit your pages, colors, fonts, header, listings etc. Your pages come with a WYSISYG editor (much like Microsoft Word)… with this editor you will also have the ability to add HTML. You are not permitted to install anything on the sever level.

How much money can I make?

How much money you make will depend on your efforts. The more you put into it the more you will get out of it. You need to go out and sell ads to make money. Some site owners hire independent contractors to sell for them and the site owners pay their salespeople straight commission… this way they do not cost you money, they can only make you money.

What kind of support do you offer?

We have online tutorials and a great help desk. We’ve been told our support is top notch and we are determined to keep it that way.

I don’t know HTML or programming, can I still do this?

Yes, you do not need to know any programming or HTML to administer your site. Our WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor is similar to Microsoft Word. If you can use Word, you can edit your pages.

Can I create additional pages?

Yes, you can create all the pages you like, and it’s easy with our page editor.

Is the site pre-populated with business directory listings or will I have to enter them myself?

Yes, it will be populated with up to 2500 basic listings (name address & phone) of local businesses if you check the box on the build ticket. The amount of businesses will depend on how many we have in our database for your city. Our lists are updated annually but no database is 100% accurate and as such we do not guarantee their accuracy.

Can I put affiliate ads on my site?

Of course, we recommend it. We make if very simple to add affiliate banner code. Your site will come with banners and ads as filler and you are welcome to remove them and put your own on. Commission Junction http://cj.com is a great affiliate company.

Can I accept credit cards on my site?

Yes, you will need a Business Paypal account to accept credit card payment on your site. If you do not have one then you can sign up at http://paypal.com

Is my site ready to go sell advertising when I get it?

Yes, your site comes ready to sell.

Can I check out a demo site before I sign up?

Yes, just contact us and we will set up a demo site for you to use.

Can I lease a county or a state?

We usually only lease cities but if you are interested in a county lease please contact us. First we would need to make sure no cities in your county are already taken, Then we would review the number of cities and populations to determine a price for your county. This is done on an individual basis. (county sites would have a one time $299 setup fee plus your monthly fee would depend on the number of cities and towns and their populations.) We do not lease states.

Can you hold my city for me until I’m ready to sign up?

The software is automated it will not mark a city as taken until you actually sign up.

Who will build the ads for my customers?

Your customers can register, login and add their own business listings, banners, classifieds etc. OR you can put their listings on for them. It is as simple as filling out a form and using a browse button to upload a picture. We even have an online banner creator that you or your customer can use.

How many listings or ads can I put on my site?

It is unlimited you can create as many as you like.

Can I have an email address @ MyDomain.com?

Due to so many Spam requirements we are no longer issuing emails@yourdomain. Most site owners sign up for a gmail email address that is simply yourdomain@gmail.com.
